Good question. There are quite a few marketers out there who believe that all you need to do is find out where people are spending money (most of us know where that is) and just go for it. They suggest doing this without taking into consideration competition or any other factors. If money is being spent…go for it.
Truth is, there is something to be said for this philosophy…if you are an experienced marketer and know what you’re doing. Anybody with a solid marketing foundation can monetize even the most competitive niches. So for those folks, go where the money is…works.
But what about for the new marketer who doesn’t have a clue? Is he going to be able to take advantage of the health niche and go up against folks like Web MD? I have a pretty firm handle on marketing but even I wouldn’t want to go up against those folks. I still try to look for every advantage that I can.
That is the reason why I feel that niche research is so important. It will let me know many things, including how many people are out there with money to spend, how much competition there is, what products are already selling and so on. All of this information helps me in tackling a niche and getting the most out of it.
Is it a lot of work? Yeah, it can be. There is so much involved with niche research that most people don’t even realize. Over the course of the next few weeks, I’m going to go over some of those things. In the meantime, you can pick up my free report below and get a head start.
Niche research can be extremely helpful if you’re just starting out and looking for a springboard to locating those hot niches that aren’t so hard to break into.
