The biggest problem that Internet marketers have when it comes to niche research is knowing where to even begin.
Do you choose a niche first?
Do you choose an interest or skill?
Do you just look up keywords?
Do you ask your friends? (Forget that because nobody is going to help you find niches. It’s one of the most competitive activities in the industry.)
Yes, it can be a daunting task trying to figure out where to begin. And the worst part about it is…there really is no one starting point. The reason is simple…there are many ways to go about doing it.
Having said that, what follows is my own personal suggestion on where to start. It’s not the only way but it’s the easiest way simply because it is what most people can relate to easier than other methods.
My best starting point is looking at my interests and skills. If I’m going to make money online, which is still work no matter how you want to slice it, I want to at least do something that I enjoy doing. So I’m going to write down all the things that I enjoy doing in a list.
Here is my personal list.
Music
PC Games
Movies
Writing
Programming
From this list, I’m going to look to see if there is any possible way for me to make money doing any of these things.
For example, I love to write. I’ve written songs, poems, novels, ebooks, plays and so on. Is there any way that I can use my writing to make money? Well, of course there is…lots of ways.
And that’s just one of my interests.
If I went through each one of them, I would find out that there were tons of things I could do to earn a living online.
And the most important part is this…I’ll be doing something that I enjoy doing. That is the beauty of this method.
So what I want you to do is sit down and make your list of interests and skills.
We’ll move on to the next step in the next article.
